The Task Master

Saturn, the sixth planet from the sun, signifies discipline, structure, and responsibility. Positively, it fosters practicality, hard work, and the ability to build solid foundations. However, the saturnine influence can lead to feelings of restriction, fear, or a tendency towards rigidity. To handle Saturn effectively, embrace discipline as a source of strength, set achievable goals, and view challenges as opportunities for growth. Cultivating a balance between structure and flexibility ensures that the positive attributes of Saturn contribute to personal achievement and long-term success.

Saturn is correlated to the Greek god Cronus. Cronus was one of the Titans, a group of powerful and primordial beings who ruled before the Olympian gods. He decided to overthrow his restricting father, Uranus, who was the ruler of the Titans, by castrating him with a sickle (with the encouragement of his mother, Gaia). Once Cronus took power, however, he ruled with fear and paranoia. He was told that one of his children would eventually overthrow him, so he swallowed each of his offspring as they were born to his wife Rhea. However, he was eventually defeated by his son Zeus, leading to the rise of the Olympian gods and Cronus' imprisonment in the underworld. As a result, a big lesson of the planet Saturn is learning to control our impulses and temper our desire for power or control.
