Lunar Month of Capricorn 2024: Confronting Past Blockages Keeping Us Stuck

December 30, 2024 – January 29, 2025

In the last few months of 2024, we have finally started to embrace a very different approach to life that will help us to create a new, different, and better experience that we have been trying to get to since 2020.

This new approach is one where we have fun, trust our instincts, and act in ways that are simpler and easier. We have also started to have faith and hope that this new approach will eventually work (even though it didn’t work in the past, or we never tried it before).

This is wonderful! But even though this is very good, we begin to realize this lunar month that there are still some significant issues from 2020 that still linger that we have been AVOIDING dealing with for YEARS. We also realize that we can no longer continue moving forward without resolve these old challenges.

As a result, we then take action to confront these old things, adjust, or break free from them. This then triggers us greatly and causes a lot of fear, anxiety, anger, or arguments with ourselves or others. However, we don’t let this stuff get us down. Instead, we find the courage to keep going and confronting these challenges.

That then causes these old things to more fully resolve themselves so that we can move on into this different and better experience we have been hoping for.

But as we try to move forward on the new and better things we have been working towards, we realize that we still aren’t ready YET to plow new ground and take big action on new things. That is because the old things still need more time for the little details to work themselves out.

As a result, we try to take the time to tie up these old details more fully. It is actually going quite well, but all of a sudden we begin to feel a bit unsettled and lost, without these old things to rely on anymore. As a result, we begin to get impatient with the process and cling onto any bit of control we have over our situation. We may try to force our situation to resolve faster or differently, which ultimately fails and makes us upset.

What we will eventually need to learn (especially next lunar month) is that there is nothing to be sad or upset about! Something very good is going on here. Instead, we just need to surrender, let go of control, trust the Divine, and allow the process to unfold in whatever way it is meant to, which will definitely be in service of our highest good. We just feel a bit uncomfortable because we are in between two worlds — the old one, which is now finally leaving, and the new one, which still has yet to take form.

Confronting old issues

December 30, 2024 – January 6, 2025

This week, we begin to confront some significant things from the past we have been avoiding for years that are in the way of a different and better life. It is a bit hard at first, causing a lot of fear, insecurity, arguments and anger. However, we find the courage to continue despite those obstacles. As a result, we begin to get more clarity about how to resolve these old things. We also gain more momentum to do just that. Any fear or arguments calm down. Our life begins to change direction to be something different and better, even though it still feels tentative and emergent.

Trying to move into the new

January 6-13, 2025

We continue to see our life change and take on a totally different direction or shape from before. However, we suddenly start to feel a bit confused about how to move forward on these new things. We aren’t sure what to do. As a result, we take some time to think about how best to proceed. That then gives us some insights. The insights we receive are that we need to finish resolving the old things first before we can move forward on new things.

Grasping for control

January 13-21, 2025

We continue to end, resolve, or release any old challenges (so that something different and better can emerge). However, it is a gradual process that will continue for a few more weeks as a months. As a result, we feel unsafe, as though we lack a solid foundation to stand on during this transition. We begin to have difficulty trusting the process and allowing these things to resolve in their own time and way. As a result, we feel very exposed, unsettled, stuck, and unable to move forward on new things. We also try to over-control the situation so that it happens differently or faster (which is the opposite of trust and surrender). This backfires and makes us upset and frustrated.

Releasing control and healing

January 21-29, 2025

Our feeble attempts to control our situation don’t work, and these old challenges continue to resolve themselves in their own way and time, regardless of our interference. As a result, we continue to feel unsettled and uneasy about what is occurring. Our mind begins to go crazy and make up false and fearful scenarios that can cause us to feel depressed. What we begin to learn is that we need to release control over the outcome of our situation, and just allow whatever is happening next to come to us in its own way and time, without force or anxiety. We also need to gives ourselves more time to heal from this experience and adjust internally.

Questions for Reflection

You can answer these questions to yourself, in your journal, or in the comment section.

1. What old things from the past have you been avoiding dealing with — or struggling to deal with — that have been keeping you stuck?

2. What steps can you take to finally confront and release these old issues so that they no longer continue to bring you down (even if it is scary)?

3. What things can you do to nurture or calm yourself as you take action on these steps so that you can finally conquer these old things?

4. After you begin taking action to resolve the past, what new opportunities may begin to open up for you to pursue?

4. After you begin taking action to resolve the past, what small details from these old issues might not resolve themselves immediately and still need to be taken care of over the course of the next few weeks and months?

5. After you begin taking action to resolve the past, where might you be trying to over-control your actions or the situation to make sure it goes a certain way?

6. After you begin taking action to resolve the past, in what way might you be holding on too much to rigid ideas about how this situation should play out in order to resolve properly?

7. How can you release control over your situation and how it plays out — and surrender more to the process? Are there any emotions you need to process?
